Wasatch Histo Consultants, Inc. History
Wasatch Histo Consultants, Inc. was established August 1, 1997 after
the owner Cathy A. Mayton left the VA Medical Center, Bone & Joint Research
Lab and established a private, contract histology
laboratory.
Cathy A. Mayton, previously known as Cathy Sanderson, has been in the
field of histotechnology for 33 years. Cathy has had an entrepreneurial
spirit for over 20 years when she began marketing plastic slides to ground
histology laboratories in 1985. Cathy has co-authored over 20 publications
describing histology procedures and has presented numerous workshops
at the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH) annual Symposium/ Conventions.
Cathy also developed the Sanderson's Rapid Bone Stain™ (RBS) distributed
by Surgipath Medical Industries, Inc. The RBS was developed primarily
for the staining of ground sections of mineralized bone embedded in methyl
methacrylate. Wasatch Histo Consultants, Inc. was literally built from
the ground up. J.C. Mayton, President of Wasatch Histo, built the lab
situated on 2.5 acres in 1997. J.C. also sharpens tungsten-carbide knives
used for the sectioning of stainless steel coronary stents. Currently,
Wasatch Histo Consultants, Inc. processes vascular stents for multiple
clients across the United States. Although we primarily serve our client's
vascular stent processing needs, we also prepare small, mineralized bone
ground histology sections, and other biomedical devices. If you would
